We booked Guesthouse B for a two-night stay, but unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience to say the least. The heater in the king-size bedroom was malfunctioning, turning the room into an unbearable sauna. There was no way to adjust or shut it off, and the double windows were locked, preventing any fresh air from cooling the room. For safety reasons, I could only crack the door open intermittently, but that wasn’t a viable solution overnight. The extreme heat made the room dangerously uncomfortable, and I ended up moving to a small room with a pull-out couch, which was essentially on the floor. At 6 feet tall, sleeping there was incredibly uncomfortable, but at least the window in that room could be opened slightly. Adding to the discomfort, the neighbors were partying loudly past 11p.m., making it impossible to sleep. I eventually had to go and ask them to quiet down…Between the heat and the noise, we did not got any sleep. Ultimately, we decided to check out a day early due to the issues with the king-size bedroom heat. Thankfully, we were able to book a room at the Hampton Inn in nearby Bennington, which was a much better experience, and we plan to stay there for our next week long trip.
Although the property manager tried to assist via text and ultimately refunded one night, I was hoping for a full refund for both nights since I basically slept on the floor the one night and not king size bed I paid for.
