Summary:
Welcome to your nautical oasis home on Lake Huron! Huron Helm is for our guests that enjoy the great outdoors, creating memories by the fire, listening to waves and setting the reset button while watching the boats go by. Newly remodeled in 2024 we kept in mind having activities throughout the home, yet a place you can destress from your daily routine. Our favorite amenities include 6 person hot tub, barrel arcade of 60 games, pet friendly and of course enjoying the outdoor lounge/dining area
The Space:
The Space
This spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom lake house provides plenty of room for up to six guests to experience the Great Lakes together. Groups of friends, couples, small families, and boat enthusiasts love spending time here, and the house is pet-friendly, so no one has to miss out on the fun.
Living Spaces
The rustic, wood-paneled living space strikes the perfect balance of comfort and style. Guests can sit back with a drink in hand and look out at the lake through the glass doors, or swing them open and let the breeze sweep through the space.
The entire space benefits from AC and heating, keeping you comfortable whatever the weather. On those particularly frosty Michigan nights, light the fireplace and snuggle down on the sofa for a cozy movie night on the smart TV. If you happen to be here on a rainy day, we have plenty of games (including an arcade barrel with 60 games!), puzzles, and books to keep you entertained.
The workspace is handy for guests who need to get a few tasks done during their stay, and WiFi is available throughout the property for working, streaming, and scrolling on social media.
A spa corner with a towel warmer is a thoughtful touch for guests hopping in and out of the hot tub, and the enclosed gazebo is a delightful spot to enjoy the up-close-and-personal water view, while lounging on the sofa sipping a glass of your favorite beverage and enjoying a game of poker or Jenga with friends and family.
Kitchen & Dining
The bright, open-plan kitchen is fully loaded with new appliances and everything you need to rustle up impressive meals and yummy snacks. Keen cooks will appreciate the well-stocked spice drawer — as will the diners! Complimentary coffee from the local Cheboygan Brewing Company ensures that every morning gets off to the best possible start, and the barware will keep those good vibes going for the rest of the day.
There’s space for two to enjoy casual bites at the breakfast bar, and the six-seater dining table is where your group will enjoy lively lunches and long dinners with plenty of laughs, great stories, and memories that you’ll cherish for years to come.
Bedrooms & Baths
Two modern, spacious guest rooms ensure that you and your family and friends rest well during your stay. The primary suite features a sumptuous king-size bed and is finished with striking blue and white shiplap.
The master bathroom continues the nautical theme with rope accents and blue and white decor. There’s a shower over the bathtub and the dual vanity gives you plenty of room to get ready in the morning. This bathroom also features a washer and dryer so you can look and feel fresh throughout your stay.
The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and two bunk beds that comfortably sleep a family or a group of friends. The mural is a popular design feature with our guests, and each bed has access to personal lighting and USB ports. Bedroom is also supplied with one sound machine to lull you to sleep. This room has access to the guest bath with a shower, single vanity, and wallpaper of the Great Lakes and the Cheboygan area.
The comfy pull-out sofa in the living room can sleep two additional guests so there’s no problem if you’re having trouble narrowing down your guestlist. Both bathrooms are fully stocked with all the essentials, and there are plenty of extra blankets and pillows available, too.
Outdoor Amenities
Huron Helm boasts a spectacular outdoor area that your group will fall in love with. The hot tub is a major highlight for our guests. It’s covered, so you can keep cool in the sun or sheltered from the snow, and the fairy lights create a magical ambiance.
The outdoor deck with comfy furniture is the ideal spot for a tranquil morning coffee or a more lively happy hour. When hunger strikes, fire up the grill for al fresco waterfront feasts. Then, once the sun has set, light the fire pit and retire to one of the Adirondack chairs to enjoy a nightcap under the stars.
The dock was made using a piece of Mackinaw Bridge and leads directly down to the water for swimming. There are yoga mats, kayaks, and paddleboards for you to enjoy, and we also provide plenty of yard games in the front including cornhole boards, can frisbee, and ring toss.
Around the front, there’s more yard space and a private drive with room for two up to four vehicles.
*Please note dock and other outdoor amenities such as paddleboards, kayaks, etc. will not be available in the winter months Nov 1st-May1st.
