The space
Howqua House is a split-level home with 2 bedrooms sleeping between 2-6 guests comfortably. It is a beautiful home amongst the trees ideal for family and friends to enjoy.
There is a split system air-conditioner (cooling & heating) in the living area and one in each bedroom. You will be comfortable during the hotter months and able to sleep soundly each night. There is also a wood fire to keep you cosy during those cooler months whilst you enjoy your cheese platter, movies and wine in front of the fire.
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed with access to a wardrobe with hanging space for clothes. Two side tables and wall mounted dimmer lights for bedtime reading.
The second bedroom has a king single bunk bed and a double sized bed with access to a dressing table with 6 drawers.
The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials you need to feel at home and relax and a table for 4 guests to enjoy your meals (extra 2 seats available if required). The living space has a large cosy couch in front of the wood fire (fire-wood supplied).
Please note: you need to bring your own linen.
Beds with linen can be requested for an extra fee.
The outdoor balcony amongst the trees is generous and able to seat 8 people comfortably. It's the perfect spot to soak in the mountain views, catch a glimpse of the boats on the lake and enjoy the bird watching whilst having a hot cuppa or cool glass of wine.
The outdoor garden is private and large and includes a picnic table and outdoor mud kitchen for the kids. It's surrounded by beautiful bushes and trees including a magnificent blue box eucalyptus. It's perfect for kids to get muddy in the outdoor play kitchen; enjoy lunch on the picnic table; or have a picnic or kick the footy. Please note for those with little doggies, the outdoor garden is not fully fenced.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the whole house and private garden.
Guests to supply own bed linen and towels. Each bed comes with pillows and pillow protectors, mattress protectors and a doona. Please note the bunk bed is a king single.
Guests will have access to:
- kitchen equipped with spices, oils, cooking utensils, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, electric oven and stovetop, microwave, fridge/freezer
- table for meals that seats 4 guests comfortably (2 extra seats available if required)
- outdoor table on balcony that seats 8 guests comfortably with gas BBQ
- comfortable lounge with tv (including chrome cast) and wood fire (woodfire supplied)
- bathroom with hot shower
- separate toilets (one indoor and one outdoor)
- large and private outdoor garden with off-street parking
Pets considered (must be well behaved and toilet trained) - with prior written approval from property manager. Please note the garden is not fully fenced.
Lake eildon is a water storage facility so water levels are ever changing at certain times of the year. You can see the water levels on the Goulburn Murray water website( Lake Eildon).

- walking distance to Lake Eildon to enjoy picnics, boating, fishing, kayaking and bike riding.
- Mansfield is 20 minutes by car and offers many wonderful cafes, shops and restaurants as well as Live Music, Farmers Market, Delatite Winery, Armchair Cinema, Mini Golf, festivals, Mansfield Zoo, Supermarkets, Mansfield Botanic Park and nature playground, Great Victorian Rail Trail.
- Jamieson is 10 minutes by car and boasts cafes and restaurants, Jamieson Brewery, playgrounds, Jamieson & Goulburn river swimming and kayaking and picturesque and historical self-guided walks.
- Other local attractions include High Country Maze, horse-riding, bush walking, fishing, boating, 4WD tracks, helicopter charters.
