Wonderful Weekend Away at Bear Paw
My family and own property in Bear Paw but when we have out of town friends and relatives come up to visit we typically rent out an additional property to accommodate everyone. Bryce’s VRBO offered the perfect amount of space for everyone. There are a few chefs in the family so having the spacious kitchen with optimal cooking supplies was such a lovely surprise (pretty uncommon for a vacation rental). We spent pretty much all day on the lake. The water is fresh, clean and beautiful. Having the two tiered docks allowed us to park our boat for the weekend and still have plenty of space to layout and hang upstairs. Bruce was quick to respond with any questions and his guide left us with plenty of suggestions for activities outside of Bear Paw. Thanks again!

Prefect Family Retreat
From the moment we booked our stay with Bruce we were well taken care of. We had a family of 12 coming from TX, FL, and NC all at different times of the day and he made it very easy to access the property given our different timelines. The property was located in a gated community and the house itself was beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed for our extended weekend. The kitchen had essentials for cooking and cleaning, the bathrooms had plenty of towels and linens made available plus a nice laundry room for doing the laundry. The three car garage became really helpful due to the rain we had a couple of the days. The dumbwaiter pulley system made moving groceries and essentials from the garage up to the kitchen very easy and convenient. Views of the lake from every floor were stunning with plenty of balcony and porch sitting available for viewing the beauty of the lake. Instructions on how to leave the house linens and clean up during checkout was easy and helpful. Bruce was very accommodating with our departure time and very helpful by offering added services and recommendations for our stay. I would certainly stay here again. Our family made great memories this past weekend to cherish forever.

White Christmas!
It was freezing cold & the sun was setting on Christmas Eve as we arrived. The house was toasty warm & all lit up, including the Christmas tree. Thank you, Bruce! The house is spacious yet has a cozy feel. Unbelievable lake views from every room. The bird feeders were full & we spent hours just watching them fly about against the still quiet of the winter lake. Some of our group did a few day trips but most of our 8 days were filled with cooking big family meals, movies, games & enjoying the quiet. Our group spanned 3 generations of strong personalities & the house had lots of space & places to go & be alone but also great spaces where everyone could congregate, comfortably to play a game or share a big meal. This is the place to go with a good book & your EarPods. Must be great in the summer!

Great place to celebrate Thanksgiving!
We selected this location because it was the midpoint between Alabama and North Carolina. We selected the house for its great views and large kitchen. Really enjoyed the fireplace and pool table too! It is a bit of a drive to a nearby town, so plan to bring everything to avoid that driving time. Had great family time, loved it!

A must stay location
This location was absolutely amazing, very accommodating to large gatherings. Upon getting to the location is a nice beautiful scenic drive about 35 mins from downtown Murphy. The house is very well kept given a mountain lake home that is rented often. I would highly recommend staying, Bruce was very easy to communicate with. Fantastic Summer Family Vacation
Four parents, five kids, and six days on the lake was vacation perfection! The house was great - having two master bedrooms was terrific and we also loved the ample dining, living and kitchen spaces. Perks like a pool table and a separate ice machine were a bonus and the kitchen was well stocked. A highlight of the trip was a day on the water with host Bruce as our Captain on his gorgeous pontoon boat. Lake Hiwassee stole our hearts!

What a Father’s Day Gift…
We decided to take a last minute trip to Bear Paw on the Thursday before Father’s Day. We made the reservation on Thursday afternoon…Bruce confirmed all the details immediately and we were in the house by Friday evening for a three-night stay. The house is amazing…spacious, clean, well-appointed and in the perfect location on the lake. Huge living room, great kitchen, plenty of bedrooms and high quality furniture/bedding. 100% top notch. The dock is great for sunning, swimming, or boarding boats/jet skis. Maybe the best VRBO we have ever rented anywhere for a family get together. The lake itself is gorgeous and this house is the perfect home base to create lasting memories. Thank you, Bruce…we hope to return soon.

Excellent view and great place to stay
My family and I visited Bear Paw from Yulee, FL during the last week of December. The house was very clean and spacious. It definitely met our expectations and we enjoyed the scenery as well as the casino and shops. Bruce was very helpful with any issues that may have came up during our stay. We would definitely come back and visit.

Great Christmas getaway!
We stayed in this beautiful home for Christmas with our family. It was large, spacious, and plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have some fun or relax. Beautiful view from the many porches. The property manager was very responsive to any questions we had. The house was located quite a ways out of town which was hard to tell from the listing prior to booking. We had a great time though, we took our golf cart with us and enjoyed riding around the mountains. The whole family had a blast and we would definitely return! BEAUTIFUL home! They owners even had it beautifully decorated for Christmas for us. Highly recommend this home!

Great stay! Multiple extra amenities!
Great communication by property manager! Lots of space. The steps to the water - I counted 94. They’re not for the faint at heart. The dock has an upgrade - there’s a platform addition not shown in pics. Was wonderful to put chairs on and relax. Also - bedroom 4 pic not accurate- it’s better - it has 2 queen beds in a large, plenty of space, room. Making the count 2 king and 3 queen (not 2 as listed) which was an awesome surprise even though there was only 5 of us. There’s also a foosball table in the garage (didn’t use but wanted to mention if you have kids) We originally rented a boat from a marina we googled that was an hour way. We ended up at the marina we didn’t even have to leave the development to get to. 5 min drive. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. Good size shop for souvenirs too considering any shopping truly is 40 min away. Bruce recommended going into the town of Blue Ridge. Awesome suggestion- lots of little shops and easy to walk around (like Helen but less busy) I googled “Main Street “ for an address and it took us right there. Gave the kids just enough “city stimulation” before heading back to the peacefulness of the lake house. There was a kayak there for use not listed - a super surprise even though we didn’t use it. Lake is clean and you won’t regret the memories you’ll make there.

Relaxing and luxurious
Our family stayed at this home for 1 week. The lake was clean to swim in and the home was very accommodating. The bar on the middle floor was equipped with a fridge and ice maker . Bedrooms were large with a bathroom for each one, even the downstairs. Bruce was helpful in renting a golf cart to get around the complex, less stress on your vehicle going up and down hills. We would stay here again. Excellent home.

We rented this house with another for a family reunion and this was the perfect gathering spot. The rooms are very large, allowing us to gather comfortably.
