Storybook Sunset Cottage on White Lake. Excellent Location. Dock & Kayaks

The cottage is a charmer with its Swedish roots, yet it’s been updated functionally with a modern bath, air conditioning, and has a stocked kitchen. A brand new Weber Spirit grill has been added for the 2021 season too!

There are outstanding views of beautiful White Lake from the dinette’s picture window, both bedrooms, the living room, and especially the screened in porch.

The dock and 2 kayaks are across S. Shore Dr. (2 lane).
Several places nearby rent boats to fit your needs.
Duneshore Boating will even drop off and pick up right at the cottage
(tubes and stand up paddle boards as well).
Or just bring your own! The boat launch is 1 min. away (at White Lake Dr.)
Ask for recommendations upon booking.

Note: Pontoons that are rented are not allowed to go from White Lake out to Lake MI. If you want to explore Lake MI in a rented boat - only speedboats &
deck boats like from 3rd Coast Rentals are allowed.

Our proximity to everything is a stand out feature.

The cottage is just 10 minutes from Hwy. 31 and also from the charming sister towns of Whitehall & Montague.

Montague Foods has a large selection of high quality groceries, beer, and wine.
Check out the World’s Largest Weathervane before going in!
Also take advantage of the Farmers Market (and Artisan Market)
across the street on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

There are many interesting shops and restaurants in the White Lake area
to check out such as Montague’s classic Dog ‘n Suds Drive-In & Whitehall’s Fetch Brewing.
Whitelake.org is a great resource for the area attractions and the Calendar of Events like the Cruz’In Classic Car Show
and those happening at the outdoor music pavilion.
They have a downloadable Visitor’s Guide.

Be sure to stop by WaterDog Outfitters (Whitehall) - a superb outdoor recreation store that also provides bike & kayak rentals.
Both Armstrong’s (Whitehall) and Johnson’s (Montague) can assist with fishing gear and advice.

September Sunset
We stayed at the Sunset Cottage for a week in September and had a wonderful time. The cottage is small, but comfortable, and the beds are especially nice. We loved the sunsets, absolutely gorgeous and the fire pit in the front across from the lake provided a lovely bonfire for s’mores. The grocery store was close, and we cooked several meals with the well equipped kitchen. LuAnn recommended Duneshore boating for a rental pontoon, and we had a nice pier to dock it for the week. Good for cruising the lake and fishing. LuAnn was a wonderful host and went over and above to make our stay memorable! Thank you so much! Highly recommend!

The property was great - clean, functional, and well stocked for all of our needs. There is a nice unobstructed view of White Lake from the front sun room. We stayed while kayaking the White River and running the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in our Jeep. There are a couple of breweries near by to unwind and pick out your dinner destination.

A relaxing spot!

Our family of four stayed in Sunset Cottage for four nights. We found the cottage to be cozy, clean, and full of charm and amenities. The location was perfectly suited for enjoying Whitehall and Montague and also for taking day trips. We would definitely stay here again!!

Exactly what we needed
We came from out of town to visit relatives located in the area. From the minute we booked this cottage, the property owner was in constant communication and even helped us rent a pontoon boat. At one point we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house and she was there within minutes. The cottage was surprisingly spacious. The two beds were super comfy and even the futon was perfect for the kids. Kitchen was larger than expected and it was stocked with anything we needed to cook with. The back yard had a new weber grill and it was very quaint and private. We will definitely book this place again.

Lovely cottage
Wonderful little cottage. Nice quiet neighborhood with beautiful views of White Lake. Also close to lots of fun things to do and parks to explore. Our teenagers spent tons of time across the street on the dock fishing and in the kayaks provided on the lake. The owner was very responsive and helpful. She made everything so easy for us. Thanks for a very nice vacation!

A Perfect Little Oasis
From selecting this cottage to leaving, LuAnn was the perfect host! We were hoping to check in a little early, and she made it happen. She checked in to make sure we never needed anything, and even gave us details on the friendly neighbors. White Lake is more of a fishing lake, but the dock was a place for a busy mom and RN to get some much needed natural Vitamin D and peace and quiet. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked! The backyard oasis had a grill, hammock, and so much more. Even though the houses are close, we never heard either neighbor. The air conditioning is a major plus. It’s cute, quaint, and totally perfect.

Storybook cottage right on the Lake
This is was perfect spot to stay for our little family of 3! Great communication with the owner, she let us arrive a tiny bit early for check in. We were delightfully surprised by the clean and cheerful interior (and exterior) of this vintage lakeside cottage. Furnishing were comfortable for all of us. The kitchen was stocked with utensils, cookware and a few extra pantry items, which helped when eating in. The bathroom had a nice shower with plenty of towels. We loved the view of the lake and spent a lot of time on the enclosed porch. Easy to get in and out of the driveway. The beach and the town of Whitehall were just minutes away, making it a convenient spot to stay. Very quiet at night, and really no noise from any of the other neighboring cottage during the day - it was like we had the place to ourselves! We highly recommend booking this little slice of heaven on White Lake!

Great spot, even better hosts
First of all, the location here is fantastic. It's right across the street from the lake, has a dock, and includes some kayaks. It's near town, parks, Michigan Adventure, sand dunes and much more. The house is small, but well laid out and we never felt cramped. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, it had WiFi, and the addition of a Roku was a nice feature. The hosts were even better. When we mentioned that our kids are into games, they asked what type of games, and made sure they had some in the house when we arrived. We had a mix-up with our check-in, and they were able to make it work without even complaining about it, which was absolutely amazing. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are ever in the area.

A Magical Three Weeks
Everything exactly as advertised. We had a wonderful time sitting by the lake watching the boats, skiers and sail boats. It was very relaxing. The A/C in the house worked very well and that was important to us. We were close to lots of local attractions including blueberry farms in harvest mode. A more pleasant and accommodating hostess you could not find anywhere. If we even whispered it, she made it happen. We would be happy to stay there again if we chose that area of Michigan in the future.

This cottage was just wonderful! Everything about it felt like home. LuAnn was so helpful and responsive, always there to answer questions. You won’t regret staying here
This place is so cute and cozy the comfy bedding and pillows where great to fall into at the end of a Lake day! This place has everything you need. The kitchen is stocked From Tupperware containers to nice pots and pans. The entertaining area out back with the grill is a place my family enjoyed having dinner. We sat together next to the fire watching the beautiful sunsets. We definitely didn’t have enough time and will look forward to coming back to explore the town. If you have a boat definitely bring it, it will was worth it. The lake is awesome. We also went and toured the lighthouse. There is plenty to do just never enough time. We look forward to coming back. My kids are still talking about your cottage we loved it! Thank you for your communication and quick responses. The owner is a terrific host and the neighbors are so nice.
