If the Studio isn't available for your dates, consider our Apartment next door. Close to the Medical District, the Canal Streetcar, the Bayou and City Park, and great bike infrastructure, Mid-City and Maison Dupré are never far from the action!
The Space:
You will have access to the whole studio, which includes a small sitting area, bed, half sized kitchen, full sized bathroom. You also have access to a shared front porch and yard. This 100-year-old home has been renovated by the owner's own hands to give those visiting our wonderful city somewhere to truly call home during their stay.
Guest Access:
In the local parlance, this home is a four-bay double shotgun. This listing is the right side of the building, a bedroom with sitting area, a kitchen and dining room, and a comfortable bathroom. A wide front porch and garden with many local trees and a couple transplants complete the indoor comfort with a typical Louisiana scene outside. Guests will have access to the studio, half front porch and shared yard.

Mid-City is a slice of everything New Orleans has to offer. Conveniently located between all of the City's major attractions, you're never far from the action! Our corner of the neighborhood is one of the fastest-changing pockets of the City. We are blocks from the new VA and LSU hospitals, which have brought a deluge of new restaurants and stores to the area.
Makin' Groceries
No where else in New Orleans will you find the diversity of experiences you'll see here. There is a Middle-Eastern Market at Mona's on Banks St, a Latin Grocery at Ideal on S Broad and a Whole Foods on N Broad, all within walking distance. Swan River Yoga is hands down the best Mandir in Louisiana, only four blocks away, and you will not regret any class there, especially not with Kelly!

You can get Vegan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at Good Karma on Canal St, Shawarma at Jerusalem Café at Tulane and S Galvez, Créole Brunch at the Ruby Slipper on S Broad, perhaps New Orleans' best Po-Boy at Parkway on Hagan Ave, SE Asian BBQ at Marjie's Grill on S Broad, the brand-new and rave-reviewed Echo's Pizza on Banks St, Baleadas and other Honduran classics at Los Catrachos on Tulane Ave, and great Po-Boys and Créole fare at Avery's on Tulane.
Indulging
You can bump elbows with Judges and Lawyers right out of Court at SideBar on S White St, the best bands at Chickie-Wah-Wah on Canal, Soccer Fans and locals at Finn McCools on Banks St, the quintessential New Orleans neighborhood bar at the Holy Ground at JD Parkway and Canal, huge selections of beer and wine with great patios at Bayou Beer or Bayou Wine Garden on JD Parkway, specialty cocktails with no pretentious attitude at 12 Mile Limit on Baudin St at Telemachus, amazing cocktails and an incredible atmosphere at Tréo on Tulane Ave, or even pick up something local at 504 Craft Beer Store on Tulane Ave.
This is the best-kept secret in New Orleans, an almost completely local crowd at award-winning and affordable bars and restaurants.
Getting Around:
Streetcar
The house is 4 blocks from the Canal Streetcar Line, stop at White Street, in front of the RTA Headquarters. Trains run every 7mins to downtown during the day and at least every 30mins 24/7. Away from downtown, the line branches, every 10mins to the Cemeteries and every 20mins to City Park/New Orleans Museum of Art. More info search NORTA
Biking and Bike Share
We are 3 blocks from a Blue Bikes Station at Banks & S Broad, New Orleans' brand-new bike share system! Register an account, reserve a Bike and ride anywhere in Mid-City, Tremé, Downtown, the French Quarter, the Marigny, Bywater or 7th Ward, simply dropping off your Bike at any Blue Bikes Station, picking one back up when you want to keep going. Biking around Mid-City is a dream, there are a multitude of on-street Bike Lanes in the area, on Banks St, Tulane Ave, N Broad Ave, etc, but we are also within easy pedaling distance of New Orleans' two best off-street mixed-use Bike Paths, the Lafitte Greenway, running from near City Park, past the Bayou, straight to downtown, and the JD Parkway Path, connecting with the Greenway by the Bayou and heading Uptown! Bus
Two blocks from the house at S Broad and Tulane Ave, the JET E-2 Bus runs directly to the Airport, the No. 39 Tulane Bus runs downtown and in the other direction meets up with the St. Charles Streetcar at S Claiborne and S Carrollton Ave, and the No. 94 Broad Bus runs uptown or through Gentilly to New Orleans East. Ridesharing
Lyft, Uber and Taxi services are all very accessible from Mid-City, 5-10min ride to downtown, 15-20min to Uptown, 5-10min to City Park, there are always plenty of cars available, 24/7, including middle-of-the-night runs from the French Quarter or to the Airport.
Parking
Street Parking is widely available in the intermediate neighborhood around the house, parking is most secure on the 2900 Block of Baudin Street.
Other Things to Note:
Per New Orleans City requirements, this contains a decibel monitoring device. The device is located in a common area and not in any bedroom or bathroom.
If traveling with children and would like babysitter recommendations please let us know in advance so we can try to find an available sitter for you.
