Welcome to this private, single-family home in a convenient area. 875 square feet (81 m2) of space. The house has 2 bedrooms, an open living/dining room, full kitchen, and full bathroom. Free parking in the driveway for one car. The house is a 15-min walk (0.8 miles / 1.3 km) to Avenel Train Station. NYC in 45 minutes. EWR in 25 mins. Philadelphia, Washington, Boston, etc. also accessible via the train system. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. Park w/ tennis courts behind the house.
This is a private, single-family home and it is not shared with anyone. The home is located in a quiet, suburban, and residential neighborhood. It is a safe area and convenient to public transportation, shopping, and restaurants. A convenient feature of this home for guests that may have mobility issues is that there are no steps required to reach the home and everything is on one floor.
You will have access to the entire house except for the rear utility room, which is locked and not accessible to guests. If you want to access the backyard, you will need to walk around from the front of the house. The driveway has space for one vehicle and is free to use.
Avenel Train Station is located just 0.8 miles (1.3 km) from the house. You can walk there on non-busy streets in about 15 minutes. This train line connects you with Newark Airport (EWR), New York City, and beyond. You can also drive quite easily around this neighborhood. There is one parking space in the driveway and any additional vehicles you can park on the streets, usually right in front of the house.
No parties, events, or smoking of any kind are allowed in this house or anywhere on the property -- strictly enforced.

Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival. The code will not be sent in advance.
The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. We will not be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and your check in will be entirely self-service at those hours. We will not give refunds if you have issues checking in after 11:00 pm. There is no luggage storage available at the house.
Please also note that this house is an older house. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what we can provide given the age of the house. The place looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport EWR, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.
We also just want to make clear that you are renting a private house and not a hotel room. There are many differences between house rentals and hotels, and some newer guests may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. We are including this disclaimer here because we have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view our listing as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different. You will be given the choice between a refundable damage deposit (administrative fee for this option is $10) or a non-refundable damage waiver (the cost is $35). This process is required. It is not optional. You will not be given access to the listing unless your status is "approved" from Superhog. You will need a valid credit card in order to complete this process. We are fully disclosing this here so that a guest cannot claim after booking that this was not disclosed. We will not give refunds for reservations if you choose not to comply or you are not approved.

Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).
If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.
Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you've brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!
If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.
If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.
