Welcome to Casa de Heights, your unique and cozy stay located in the heart of Normal Heights. We designed this home with short-term stays in mind so you can feel at home and relax here or enjoy the plentiful things San Diego has to offer. We also have 31 5-star reviews elsewhere, so don't miss out due to lack of ratings!

Our beautiful home is conveniently located near all the major highways. Driving distances/times are annotated in "Other things to note". Uber/Lyft are readily available. We also have a walk score index of 91 and bike score index of 70 due to all the designated bike lanes in our area.

This home has 450 sq ft of interior space and 450 sq ft of rooftop space, every inch has been maximized for comfort, luxury and thoughtful amenities. This mini-castle is private and detached with its gated front entrance and gated driveway. Everything here is for your enjoyment as there are no shared spaces for this home. The house was designed and built around a king-sized bed and boasts a smart 65” tv in the bedroom and a smart 55” in the living room. The bedroom features a king-sized memory gel foam bed and a spacious walk-in closet for you to un-pack and feel at home. The bedroom also has a mini-split heating and cooling unit. The bathroom features dual rainfall shower heads and two wall-niches, as well as a towel heater and LED bathroom fan. The bedroom and living room have accent LED lighting that is great for movie nights or a comfortable ambiance.

The living room features a pull-out sofa that can sleep up to two additional people, as well as island seating for two. The wall is decorated with beautiful reclaimed redwood that is at least 70 years old. The kitchen is fully equipped including a blender, crockpot cooking/baking trays, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, various utensils, as well as a variety of coffee and teas.

There is a Jacuzzi that comfortably sits 4 people and has curtains for added privacy. Underneath the stairs, there is a full-sized washer and dryer, as well as tide pods, downy scented beads and dryer sheets. The driveway will comfortably fit a full-sized car or small truck with access from the alley (best way to park may be backing in as there are cars that park in the alley). The gate is controlled by remote, so there is no need to manually open/close the gate. There is also a dedicated 40 Amp EV charging outlet for your vehicle, you just need your own charging cable/adapter as we do not have any for your vehicle. There is street parking, but it is on a first-come, first-served basis. There is one security camera outside of the house for your safety, and a few others on the exterior of the property, but we do not place cameras inside.

Upstairs is the epitome of outdoor living. The interior walls are wrapped in the same reclaimed redwood as the living room with a fantastic westward view, 100” projector screen, gas patio heater, gas firepit and gas BBQ. The rooftop has a pergola that provides shade and some protection from the rain if you want to watch TV outside. The house and outdoor living area feature an integrated home theatre system including Roku, multiple streaming services, Cox cable (over 150 channels) and high-speed internet that ties all of the spaces together, as well as curtains that can be closed for more privacy/better ambiance.

Guest access
There is a shared walkway to the house, but once you are through the gate for the house, that entire area is yours.


House rules:
-No smoking in or on the property, no vaping inside. If there is any evidence of smoking, or smoking odor left from smoking (tobacco or cannabis), a minimum cleaning charge of $250 will be applied.
-No parties are allowed. San Diego is starting to regulate Airbnb’s/Short term stays, so we request guests to respect our new ordnances to ensure our neighbors can enjoy their space and we can all continue to operate and share these short term homes.
-This is a residential neighborhood, please keep noise levels to a reasonable level, especially after 10 pm.
-Load and run the dishwasher at least an hour before you leave.

Things that we ask of you:
-Keep the windows and doors closed when the AC is on.
-The house cools down quickly, please don’t run the AC when you aren’t home.
-Keep the vehicle gate closed when not in use.
-Turn off firepit/heater when not in use.

Lastly-
We do not have a dog fee, unless your pup is smart enough and willing to be employed. Until then, we ask that your dog doesn't make a mess inside or ruin any furniture.

Excellent Stay Experience
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The amenities, location and service were exceptional. The host was very responsive to the couple questions we had and the information packet was perfect. Anyone would enjoy the rooftop “entertainment” area, was great to watch football. Excellent location near numerous places. We highly recommend this location. Also all appliances were in excellent condition from the coffee to the washer n dryer. The air conditioner was critical given the heat wave experienced. We will be back and stay here when visiting our son.

What a great property with every little detail accounted for. The home was very nice and the hosts were extremely helpful. The rooftop deck was beautiful and had so many nice amenities. Everything was top notch throughout the house and the hosts go above and beyond to ensure a great stay. The only issue we ran into was that the back alley to get to the private driveway was flooded and very rough. We ended up having to park on the street. However; everything else was as described and extremely nice. I would highly recommend Casa De Heights.

We stayed at Casa de Heights for one week and enjoyed every single moment of it. Checking in was simple, the neighbourhood was quiet and accessing major routes was effortless. The photos of the house do not do it justice. It was beautifully sophisticated, tech savvy, exceptionally clean, and smelled devine. The hosts provide an abundance of stuff for their their guests, including personal toiletries, all the beach gear you can think of, and even a full body pillow! Having a private (gated) parking spot on the property was an added bonus. The washer and dryer also came in very handy as our stay was part of an epic road trip from Canada so it was nice to be able to wash clothes. We absolutely loved the roof top deck and it truly felt like we were living the life, as we drank wine, ate snacks and watched a movie after sunset. Unfortunately, we only got around to using the private jacuzzi once during our stay, but it was great to know they get it cleaned on a weekly basis. Finally, I have to give a shout out to the hosts. Communicating with Rob was a pleasure. He was thoughtful, attentive and really made us feel welcomed. They are great ambassadors for their city and their sense of pride in hosting is evident.

Perfect Family Stay
Our small family of four (with kids 7 and 4 yo) had the best time here! Husband and I were treated to a large comfy bedroom with a wall hung tv. The kids had plenty of space on the sofa pull-out with access to their own tv. The double headed rain shower was delightful. After long days at the beach or zoo we came back to a beautiful outdoor space with seating and a well maintained hot tub. If that isn’t enough for you, we would order dinner and eat upstairs with a view of the sunset and a movie on the projector. It got cold at one point but we found the radiant heater on ceiling. Sooooo cozy! As a parent the best part of this stay was that the kids could roam freely without worry. It was very kid-safe. Also being able to park our car behind the remote gate gave us extra comfort. Not that we needed it, the neighborhood was very quaint and quiet at night. Case De Heights had endless amount of nice touches that we hadn’t even thought we needed. Owners, who responded quickly to messages, genuinely want you to have a nice time and it showed.

10 out of 10 would stay here again! It’s absolutely perfect! 15 minutes from everything you want to do in San Diego. After a day out and about it’s so nice to come back and feel as comfortable as you would at home. Already want to come back during the warmer months and do some beach days.
