Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. The wooded property provides maintained walking trails for plenty of wildlife viewing pleasure and exercise. The property also features a swimming pond.

Location is 8 miles from Lincoln State Park and Lincoln Amphitheater. 10 miles from Interlake State Off Road Recreation Area. 13 miles from Holiday World. 30 miles from Evansville casinos.
The space
The guest house contains a queen and twin beds at one end of the facility, two vanity bath between that end and the end with living and kitchen area.

Lots of parking, ideal for vehicles with trailers, campers.
Other things to note
This setting has it all...your own dedicated 13 acres of woods, with maintained trails, one acre pond for swimming, fishing (catch and release), and wildlife viewing. The owner/operator is happy to assist and make suggestions, on site full time.

This was an amazing place to stay in between visiting Lincoln State Park and Holiday World. The location was very peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely return to this property; Doug was great to work with.

Doug was awesome! The property had probably the best bed we have slept in. He was thoughtful and had some protectors for the couches knowing we had a couple dogs with us. It was nice and quiet out at his place though we didn't get to explore because of family obligations. My car decided to die on us and he was so kind offering help and not mad about the circumstance of essentially checking out a hour late due to having to run into town and back for a new battery. We greatly appreciate his kindness and patience as I felt absolutely awful about my car. We strive to leave properties in the same condition we come into them and leave especially on time which I felt like we failed the second part! But as I said, Doug was very understanding and even offered help and tools from his shop. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Perfect little get away
My spouse and I really needed to get away from life/work but wanted to bring our dogs, and this was the perfect spot to disconnect. The property is beautiful and has a great trail to walk and it's only a few minutes from Lincoln State Park. Would love to go back when it's warmer weather. ☺️

Easy to coordinate with Doug. The place was spotless and very comfortable. Plus they thought of everything you might possible need — including a dog lead! We have AT&T and had good phone service. Highly recommend.

Comfortable Stay
We rented Doug's place kinda last minute for a one night stay in the middle of an emergency cross country road trip. Doug was wonderful to communicate with, very friendly and responsive. The unit was well cared for, clean, and comfortable. The only thing I feel that is important to mention that there was a Confederate flag hung on the property. As a North Eastern Hispanic family, its presence was unsettling. We understand that the flag for some is a symbol for states rights, but for others it is a symbol of racism. The flag isn't present in the photos posted online, so I just wanted to mention it so others are not taken by surprise upon their arrival. The property host, Doug, was friendly and kind and did not behave in any negative or racist way.

Great option for travel with dogs
I stayed 3 nights with my friend and two dogs and enjoyed the pond and acreage as well as the proximity to Lincoln State Park and the Lincoln's Boyhood Home museum. It is a beautiful setting! The grass was long around the yard, and the pond is down a hill, not directly adjacent to the cabin. Be prepared for mud if you linger at the sides of the pond - we took our kayaks and dogs down there and everyone got muddy getting in and out if you don't use the floating dock. The AC in the bedroom is noisy, so bring your earplugs and the kitchen/living room doesn't really get cooled by the AC in the bedroom and stays warm and humid. There is a firepit, charcoal grill, which had all the supplies, a 2 burner hotplate and a nice refrigerator and freezer. The kitchen is well equipped with all the tools and place settings for 4 people. Great option for an area that doesn't have many hotels for visitors and few options for travel with dogs! Two thumbs up and 8 paws up!

Very Remote and very quiet
The property was beautiful. The bathroom was a little tricky because you have to step up and down multiple times and it's not marked. I fell in the middle of the night, but only bruised my toe. There is no internet and no cell service unless you use At&t unless you walk to the top of the hill. This isn't bad, but you should plan accordingly. There is a pet bobcat on the property in a very secure cage. We never saw it. The host was very helpful and responsive. The place was clean and very pretty. My husband enjoyed fishing in the pond on property. We drove 25 minutes to Santa Claus, Indiana and stopped at Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home on the way. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, comfortable (the bed and shower were awesome) remote off grid experience..this is the place for you.

It was absolutely beautiful, both the house and the area it is located in. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to come back the next time we are in the area. The beds were very comfortable, the shower was amazing, and the kitchen accomodations were wonderful. We enjoyed using the grill to cook hot dogs for dinner and we loved the firepit. It is wonderful how the owner goes out of his way to make sure guests have everything they need to enjoy all aspects of the guest house. He provided charcoal for the grill, wood for the firepit, and even fish food to feed the fish in the pond. The kitchen had everything except the food. Just wonderful! He is a wonderful host and we loved how he was there and not there all at the same time. He let us be and do our own thing, but was on the property and was there if we needed anything. We highly recommend a stay here.

Country Getaway
I really appreciate all of the amenities provided to make me feel at home. I was worried about forgetting things but was happy to find towels, linens, coffee, ice, and charcoal. There was even fish food for the pond and a trail map. The pond was so lively and the fish bit quick! The floaties are starting to fall apart but I am glad they were there and we could enjoy being in the water. The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. One thing to be aware of is there is no WiFi so even though there is a smart TV, you can only use it if you connect your phone. Overall very pleased and would stay here again!

Very quiet and off the beaten path.
If you love the outdoors, this is the place for you. A lot of property to wonder the trails, and a nice fishing lake. The owner is very responsive to all questions and needs you may have. Just about everything was provided for us, a fire pit, and wood were available for use along with chairs, and tables. Inside, the place was very nice and rustic in nature, made our stay feel like home. The only cons to the stay was that there was only one AC unit, but it was in the sleeping area, so it made for a pleasant sleep. Walking through the woods is just like anywhere else, if you don't have the deep woods off, don't go walking, you will encounter the dreaded tic's, I myself found 6 in various places, and my better half was able to find two, but it was still worth the stay. Fishing therapy was just what I needed in a quiet setting. This location was only 20 minutes from Holiday World park, and that made it even more perfect.
